The Ter, one of the great rivers of Catalonia, reaches the Sau-Susqueda and Pasteral dams and enters the region of La Selva regulated by the flow of this dam. The Anglés preserve or Controlled Fishing Zone (ZPC) and the free fishing section as far as Girona offer a very good population of trout born in the river, with specimens of more than 50 cm being common. The type of fishing in the whole river is no-kill and it is compulsory to return all live catches to the water. Only invasive species such as black bass are allowed to be killed and slaughtered. The free fishing section is an area where you can fish with the continental fishing licence of Catalonia without any other additional permit.
